The Biology Lab
"The place where the invisible becomes visible" - In its structure, Cambridge Gymnasium has the Biology laboratory, which is equipped with all the necessary materials to conduct experiments in the function of the school curricula. There are performed laboratory works in the subject of biology. The Biology Lab offers the capacity to develop laboratory classes for a large number of students. The biology programme cannot be successful if it is not supported by the effective development of laboratory and practical work of students, and all of these provided in special classes, as well as included within regular classes, in the form of additional experiments, demonstrations, or experimental research tasks. Student-led work in the biology lab offers several advantages:
- It makes the subject more interesting and increases students' motivation to learn;
- It helps the student to understand biological concepts, e.g., the student distinguishes more easily a physical change from a biological change if he sees them concretely in the laboratory;
- It draws conclusions based on experience;
- It improves critical thinking skills;
- It improves psychomotor and organizational skills;
- It helps students combine theoretical knowledge with the practical one;
- It helps them develop scientific research competence;
